Add a confirmed special public holiday or other day to exclude. Duplicate dates are counted once. The placeholder is a format example, not an automatic exclusion.

For fixed weekly work patterns. Rotating shifts, hours and half-days need a separate calculation. Both the start and end date are included.

This counts days, not a leave entitlement. A holiday falling on a non-working day is not deducted twice. Check the actual roster and any newly proclaimed holidays before approving leave.

How to use this result

The tool includes both dates, separates your ordinary non-working days and then excludes applicable holidays on working days. Additional non-working dates are deduplicated, so a date is never subtracted twice.

A leave request still needs to be checked against the employee’s balance, policy and actual roster. This tool counts whole days and does not calculate shift hours, half-days or entitlement.

Keep the assumptions visible

Use an estimate to start a conversation, then reconcile it with the organisation’s verified leave record. Irregular schedules, changes in service and special contractual arrangements need separate consideration.

Inputs stay in your browser. These calculators do not connect to the authenticated LeaveCtrl application or change an employee’s leave balance.
