Sick Leave Cycle Calculator

Find the current 36-month cycle and an indicative paid sick leave balance for a regular work pattern.

Your sick leave details

Include sick leave used in the first six months if still in the first 36-month cycle.

Assumes continuous employment, a regular weekly pattern and no agreement varying the statutory structure. A 29 February anniversary uses 28 February in a non-leap year. Dates are calendar dates; this tool does not determine whether an absence qualifies for paid sick leave.

A 36-month cycle ordinarily provides the days normally worked in six weeks. It is not a new allocation every year. The actual balance must be checked against your employment terms and leave record.

These public tools estimate a single scenario. Your employer’s records and applicable terms determine your actual balance.

How to use this result

Enter the continuous employment start date and the date you want to check. During the first six months, enter actual days worked. For the remaining cycle, the estimate uses six times your normal workdays per week.

The leave already taken must relate to the current cycle and include days used in the first six months when relevant. The result does not assess proof of incapacity, occupational injury claims or an employee’s eligibility for a particular absence.

Keep the assumptions visible

Use an estimate to start a conversation, then reconcile it with the organisation’s verified leave record. Irregular schedules, changes in service and special contractual arrangements need separate consideration.

Inputs stay in your browser. These calculators do not connect to the authenticated LeaveCtrl application or change an employee’s leave balance.
